• Canine Good Citizen (CGC)

The American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen test (CGC) is a certification program that evaluates dogs in simulated everyday situations in a relaxed, noncompetitive atmosphere. Dogs that pass the CGC test are considered reliable family and community members and will receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.

  • Community Canine (CGCA)

AKC Community Canine℠ is the advanced level of the AKC's Canine Good Citizen Program. The CGCA takes the basics from the CGC and applies them to more complex scenarios. The CGCA test is administered in a busy area with other dogs and many distractions.

Therapy Dog

Therapy dogs are obedience trained and screened for their ability to interact favorably with humans and other animals. The primary purpose of a therapy animal is to provide affection and comfort to people in hospitals, retirement homes, nursing homes, schools, hospices, and disaster areas. Many people are able to connect with dogs and feel the love that they provide, having a therapeutic effect on them.
